Off to the Vineyard!

"When that foghorn blows,
you know I will be coming home..."

I'm off to Martha's Vineyard tomorrow!
Jake and I will be taking the 11:00 a.m. ferry to Oak Bluffs where we'll get situated at the inn and stroll around the area a bit. Dinner at five at the Offshore Ale Company, then Illumination Night!
As for Thursday-- it will be all about Vineyard Haven, and of course, meeting Susan Branch!
And Friday will be spent relaxing in Edgartown until the grand finale: 
the beautiful fireworks display in Oak Bluffs!

Guys, I am so beyond excited! 
I've been slaving over the iron all day, packing, and baking mini blueberry muffins for the ride up there... everything is slowly coming together and I'm so ecstatic/nervous/giddy/anxious/elated!

Our name tags for the signing, plus a bunch of maps I've printed out...
just a few of the (many) things I'm lugging up there.

When I come back on Saturday, 
I will be a girl whose dream came true.

    I am MORE than just a little envious, Erin! I'm expecting to hear all about it! Can't believe you are actually IRONING! I thought that was an art reserved for my generation.:-)

      Nellie, I am Erin's mother, and I taught her to iron!!! lol... I am actually proud to say that my children all have those old fashioned skills!

    Erin I am excited for you! Its only 3 weeks to our visit to New England, a trip to Marthas Vineyard is going to be a must. Thanks to you I have discovered Susan Branch and I am so jealous you are going to be meeting her!! I will look out for some of her books when we are over there. Cant wait to hear all about your trip and you may be able to suggest some lovely things that we can do too.Enjoy!!

    Heard about the ferry issues yesterday and sure hope that does not disrupt your plans...were you leaving from Hyannis or Woods Hole. Have the trip of a lifetime. Gorgeous weather tap.

    Oooh, Erin! I've just found you (in a very round-about way), via Rachel's blog (Mozart's Girl) ... but I've 'seen' you via Susan Branch's Twitter account! Lucky, lucky you to be going to the very first book signing of A Fine Romance (squeal)! It's going to be fantastic, I just KNOW it. And if the fireworks in Oak Bluffs coincides with Illumination Night, I can't imagine how much more delightful your visit could be... *sigh* Have a WONDERFUL trip; I look forward to seeing/hearing all about it :-)

Maybe one day you'll own one of those darling Cape Cod homes on Martha's Vineyard that you love so much.
