Dream Homes for Sale (MA)!

Happy Friday, everyone!
I'm a little late on this, but I do hope you all had a nice Easter--
Mine was full of yummy Greek food, sweet fragrant hyacinths,
and cheesecake-stuffed strawberries... yum

Most of you know I'm plannning on moving to Massachusetts
once I finish graduate school. As for locations: Cape Cod,
the islands, and Marblehead are my above all favorite options.
So naturally, every so often I search those areas' real estate websites
for any new potential "dream homes" to drool over and possibly plan for.
And the other day, I actually  found a couple that
were just so lovely I had to share them with you!:

Marblehead, MA ♥

"This lovingly restored 1760 antique home is nestled at the base of Crocker Park in the heart of Old Town, steps to Marblehead Harbor. This residence boasts magnificent original period detail which includes 3 working fireplaces plus modern amenities such as central AC, deluxe new gourmet kitchen with granite breakfast bar, top of the line baths, multiple decks and the most spectacular terraced, professionally designed gardens. New 3 zone heating system, updated electric. Can be purchased furnished."

Not a huge fan of the kitchen (a bit modern for my taste); I'd have to
remove the granite counter tops and replace it with oak.

Other than some modern features that would need to be
changed, this house is perfect, if not for the location alone!

As for the dreamiest home. . .

Vineyard Haven, MA ♥

"Greek Revival located one block from Main St. in the heart of the Historic District. All the charm of a bygone era with wide pine floors, multiple fireplaces and sunny interiors. Three bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms on Town Sewer which allows the expansion to 4 bedrooms. Detached garage and mature planting completes this wonderful home."

Look at that floor!

This epitomizes my ultimate dream home... it's absolutely flawless.
And the location... I am truly at a loss for words!
Easily, I could picture myself living in this for the rest of my life.

(in case you'd like to surprise me with it! :p)

Susan Branch on my telling her how I long to live in New England:

"You dream it, imagine it, talk it, you write it;
I bet when ladybug lands on you, you wish it;
no doubt it will come true ♥"

  1. I hope all your dreams come true Erin. The homes are all some beautiful.

  2. I'm a born and bred Brooklyn, New Yorker, I now live in Conn., and I'd love a weekend house on Martha's Vineyard one day! I'm not giving up dreaming, and neither should you. Maybe one day we will be neighbors on MV and we can go out to breakfast at The Black Dog and have their homemade sausages. ;)

  3. I just love it when you do this, cuz you like the most wonderful houses.
Wouldn't it be great to live on M.V.??
Or Nantucket? though having known friends who lived on Nantucket, they said you are all for one or the other, if you live there that is.
Now being way out here, I can like both just the same.

  4. Oh, the second home is tops for me! When I think of the Vineyard, I picture homes just like that, especially when you walk by and smell the roses through the picket fence. There is nothing like it! Keep dreaming my friend, it will most certainly come true for you! ;)I'll send some Wood Hole waves your way as I'll be there tomorrow. ;)Alyssa

  5. I just love them both. How beautiful, but my favorite was the second home. Oh... what a wonderful dream come true would that be?

  6. Those homes are beautiful! The only thing I don't like about Marblehead is there's one way in and one way out - through Salem and the traffic is awful! But I do like to visit at least once a year! I vote for Vineyard Haven! Love it!

  7. i too love it when you do these posts. i am a real estate junkie!

  8. ~beautiful homes!! Oh how I miss New England!!

  9. I do hope you move to Marblehead. I don't live far from there. We could do lunch and I'll show you all the best places to shop and dine.

  10. Lovely post, but I still love the "New England style" homes right here in Huntington. We have many old clapboard homes and they have garden space as well. Hope that yo find your dream in Mass. I think mine is here.

  11. I love them both so much....of course, I am partial to the Cape, and we do have better beaches!! I just know the right place will be there for you when you are ready!
Hugs to you and the kitties...M

  12. Oh, Erin, that second home is GORGEOUS. I can picture you there, too! But oh, LORDY LORD LORD LORD, can people pay such HUGE amounts of money for homes? What must the monthly mortgage payment be? $2000 or more? Yikes. That would scare the bazookers out of me.

Well, you are young and smart and you can do it! Oh, don't you just love that sweet little white fence? Ahhhhhh, thanks for sharing. Susan p.s. Also, thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. Love to have you stop by. Hey! Why don't you do a post on the artist whose work you use as a header? I'd love to read about her, Erin.

  13. All my life i'm dreaming to have a house like this but sad to say i can't afford to have one..
But maybe someday hopefully to have one..

  15. Hi Erin,
Wonderful post...I lived in Marblehead a long time ago and walked or bicycled everywhere with my drawing books. I think I drew that house!
