Cape Cod Central Railroad

As most of you know,
I'm going on a trip to Cape Cod/Nantucket this June that I'm head-over-heals about,
and the special highlight of my stay is going on board

"The Elegant Dinner Train" includes a five course gourmet dinner on a three hour train ride
that crosses the Cape Cod Canal railroad bridge (once the longest bridge in the world),
into the beautiful village of Buzzard's Bay.

Their fare of $69.95 per person is far from cheap,
but I feel like this is just something I have to experience.
This trip is literally a dream come true for me-
I love Cape Cod, and I truly want to make it my home some day-
So being presented with such an opportunity as to travel through its region by antique train
whilst enjoying a sumptuous dinner, how could it not be worth every single penny to me?

I'll be making the reservations tomorrow for Saturday, June 12th!
Oh, and I forgot to mention that there is a dress code for the train
(men are only permitted to wear suits, and women dresses or skirts),
so I'll be purchasing the Vermont Country Store's
"Romance of the Rose" dress as soon as I can!
*excited*

They haven't posted the official 2010 menu yet, but quite honestly, it doesn't matter to me.
I would still enjoy myself if they were serving pig's feet!

I just can't express how much I'm looking forward to this trip, and this dinner,
and sharing my experience with all of you!

  1. Oh Erin, this is going to be a wonderful time. The only thing I can think of that would make it my dream come true is if I was going in October, at the peek of foliage! I am such a sucker for fall foliage, it's kind of on the verge of strange. :)
You are going to have such a great time! And I'm sure you'll take lots of photos for us New England fanatics!

  4. My husband and I were just talking about the cape. Such a pretty place though we've never been together, only separately long before we met.

What a wonderful dinner that will be! I can't wait to hear all about it! Along with your vacation.
